The main brush cover holds the roller down and sets its clearance to the floor. The plastic cracks around the latches over time and the rubber lip wears away — and the brush starts spinning without doing much.

The symptom
The cover no longer clicks shut, sits loose, or the robot picks up worse while the brush itself is still fine — nine times out of ten it is the frame, not the roller.
Fitting
It comes off and goes back on by hand, no tools needed. The only thing to watch is not snapping the latches while removing the old one.
