The charging dock is the unit with the contacts and the infrared beacon the robot homes in on. It fails on power, on contacts and on the IR window, and less often as a whole.

It cannot find the dock
Check that the space in front of the dock is clear and the IR window is not covered, then the power supply, then the contacts. The dock itself is blamed more often than it deserves.
Fitment
Docks are tied to a series — one from a neighbouring model usually matches neither the contacts nor the protocol. Go by the robot model.
