Dock water pump
The dock water pump feeds clean water into the robot’s tank and draws the dirty water back out. The diaphragm wears, valves gum up, and less often a hose blocks.

Symptoms
The station will not fill the robot, or will not drain the dirty tank. Humming with nothing moving is usually a valve or a blockage; complete silence points at the pump.
Replacement
The pump sits inside the station body and you reach it with the tray off. Not a difficult job, but a messy one — many people prefer to hand it over.
