The mainboard is the robot’s main controller. It dies from water ingress, power spikes and third-party chargers; sometimes a drop simply unseats a connector.

Diagnose before buying
The board is the most expensive part in the robot and the one most often replaced for nothing. “It will not turn on” also comes from the battery, the button and a ribbon cable. Rule out the cheap things first.
After the swap
Some models have to be paired with the app again, and saved maps are lost in the process. We say so upfront so it is not a surprise.
